Helper-Plumbing​/Pipefitting

Colonial Webb is seeking an experienced plumbing helper for commercial plumbing in our Special Projects division.

• Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes.
• Cut pipe using pipe cutters, port-a-band saw, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine.
• Thread pipe using a threading machine.
• Join piping using grooved, threaded, soldered, brazed, fused methods.
• Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals (iron, steel, brass, copper, plastic).
• Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Perform system pressure tests, inspect and test for leaks.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, water closets, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks and water softeners.
• Perform additional tasks to ensure proper installation and repair of plumbing equipment and components.

• Work experience as a Plumber Mechanic for commercial projects (Journeyman level preferred but not required).
• Experience with layouts and ability to read and work from drawings.
• Ability to direct and support the work of a helper or apprentice.
• Safety-minded with knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
• Initiative; self-motivated, self-starter.
• Knowledge of basic construction/shop math.
• Knowledge of International Plumbing Code (IPC).
• Positive attitude, willing to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Reliable source of transportation to and from work.
