The Plumbing Foreman manages day‑to‑day operations on assigned plumbing tasks for commercial construction projects. The role combines supervisory responsibility with hands‑on plumbing work, ensuring job quality and customer satisfaction at every stage. Strong relationship‑building skills with crew, clients, customers, and vendors are essential to create a positive work environment.
Essential Functions- Study specifications, contract documents, BIM model, schedule, and VDC drawings to plan construction procedures, staffing, and timing.
- Assemble and direct members of the organization throughout the project.
- Perform a wide range of skilled construction tasks as a working Plumbing Foreman.
- Coordinate with personnel and subcontractors, interpret specifications, and manage phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Resolve construction problems and improve methods in collaboration with engineering, inspectors, and suppliers.
- Attend job site and office meetings related to assigned tasks.
- Direct installation, modification, and repair of plumbing and related systems, equipment, and fixtures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Yes
- 5+ years of experience in commercial plumbing operations or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 2+ years as a Plumbing Foreman on heavy commercial construction projects.
- Extensive knowledge and direct experience with plumbing system installation.
- Proven ability to manage and lead teams of 8 to 10 individuals, ensuring high productivity and successful project outcomes.
- Strong multitasking, independent working, and problem‑solving skills.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Availability to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
- Varying temperatures—inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness.
- Exposure to moderate/high noise levels.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles including dust.
- Work in confined spaces or from high heights.
- Use construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools.
- Work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Identify all colors of color‑coded cables/wires and maintain visual acuity for close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision; adjust focus as needed.
May require travel (typically not overnight).
Preferred Qualifications- 5+ years as a Plumbing Foreman in the Commercial Construction Industry.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- First aid/CPR certification.
- Medical Gas certification.
- Prior military experience.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
