Fire Detection Inspector

Job Overview

Lead Fire Alarm Inspector responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on fire alarm and suppression life safety product lines.

• Assist customers to keep their buildings and occupants safe and compliant by inspecting and testing fire alarm systems and associated devices.
• Complete inspection reports and documents with proper coding through communication devices such as laptops or hard copy.
• Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via laptop computer.
• Complete assigned inspections on time.
• Perform duties with the safety of yourself, colleagues and customers in mind 100% of the time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• High level of customer service.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
• Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and use of smartphone apps/platforms.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Perform physical labor, carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 30 lbs.
• Climb ladders and work with scaffolding and high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet; work within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
• Adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
• Pass a pre‑employment background and drug test.
• Successfully obtain NICET Level I or II, supported by company‑provided training.
• Preferred: experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and operational/product manuals; experience with hand tools and barcode scanners.
