Job SummaryDominion Energy's Facilities Group is looking for a Facilities Technician I or Facilities Technician II. There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
This position will perform building maintenance-related tasks at district, transmission and generation offices in a geographic territory spanning from Richmond to Midlothian. The position can work out of the Castlewood office in Richmond, VA.
Duties include:
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Completing repairs and customer work orders independently
- Ensuring buildings and equipment operate at optimal performance
- Testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems independently
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Assist with evaluating building and equipment conditions and provide repair recommendations
- Manage external vendors to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Complete or assist with testing, inspections, and maintenance of environmental and life safety systems
- Provide technical guidance and training to peers
- Evaluate building and equipment conditions and provide recommendations
- Manage small O&M or capital improvement projects
- Manage external vendors and contractor compliance
Facilities Technician I: 1+ years of related facilities maintenance, construction, or trade experience.
- Basic knowledge of building construction, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems
- Basic understanding of engineering and design principles
- Basic knowledge of environmental and life safety compliance regulations
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install building systems
- Ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and manuals
- Ability to work independently or within a team environment
- Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft applications, and SAP or similar
Facilities Technician II: 5+ years of related facilities maintenance, construction, or trade experience.
- Expert knowledge of building construction, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems
- Knowledge of engineering and design principles
- Knowledge of environmental and life safety compliance regulations
- Ability to evaluate building conditions and recommend solutions
- Ability to work independently across a large geographic territory
- Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies
- Strong communication, organization, and vendor management skills
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft applications, and SAP or similar
Required: High school diploma or GED
Preferred:
- Associate degree in Technology, Construction, Engineering, or a related field
- Completion of a formal HVAC or Electrical apprenticeship program
- Required: Valid driver’s license
- Preferred: EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (Type I, II, and III)
- Required: Virginia DPOR Journeyman HVAC or Electrician Tradesman License
- Preferred: EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (Type I, II, and III)
