Boiler Combustion Technician

• Perform maintenance of commercial boilers and associated equipment including logging operations, adjusting combustion, annual service, rebuilding equipment, cleaning heat exchangers and proper lubrication.
• Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring related to boilers, burners, combustion control systems, surge tanks, pumps, valves, and actuators.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks.
• Analyze boiler and combustion trend data to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of equipment and components.
• Lead the rebuild and retrofit of commercial and industrial boiler, burner, and combustion control systems.
• Direct Level I and Level II technicians through hands‑on demonstration of the necessary steps and procedures.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other required articles in a timely manner.
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call.
• Explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and factory training.
• Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets.
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and a clean work area are always upheld.
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures.
• Potential travel requirements may involve some overnight travel.

• 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility, or 7+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Rotational emergency call support as required.
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local laws and district regulations.
• EPA approved universal technician certification required, as necessary.
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

• Commercial HVAC industry experience.
• Previous experience mentoring less experienced technicians.
• OSHA 10 certification within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides training during onboarding).
• Current first aid/CPR card.

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $31.60 to $50.37 in VA. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
