Grade Foreman
We are seeking a Grade Foreman in the Richmond, VA area.
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the construction, installation, and repair of roadways and drainage projects. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications include five years related experience and/or training. Experience with water/storm/sewer pipe installation, grading for roadways, etc. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Physical demands include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and talking or hearing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work environment includes exposure to outside weather conditions and must walk or work on uneven ground. The employee may be exposed to high, precarious places or work in shafts and tunnels. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, occasionally loud.
Expected base hourly range for this position is: $33 - $45+
