We’re looking for a skilled mechanic with hands-on experience installing commercial plumbing and piping systems. You should be comfortable reading plans, laying out piping, cutting and threading pipe, installing valves and fixtures, testing systems, and working with a variety of piping materials.

If you have 4+ years of commercial plumbing, pipe fitting, or mechanical construction experience and can take a piping installation from layout through testing, we want to talk with you.

What You'll Do

  • Read blueprints, building plans, and working drawings to determine piping layouts and installation sequences
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and repair commercial plumbing and piping systems
  • Locate and mark pipe runs, connections, penetrations, and openings
  • Measure, cut, thread, and prepare pipe using pipe cutters, Port-a-Band saws, reciprocating saws, torches, and pipe-threading machines
  • Assemble and install pipe, valves, fittings, and plumbing fixtures
  • Work with piping materials including iron, steel, brass, copper, and plastic
  • Join piping using threading, soldering, brazing, grooving, fittings, and solvent-weld methods
  • Install sinks, water closets/toilets, water heaters, hot water tanks, and other plumbing fixtures
  • Pressure-test piping systems using water or air and identify and repair leaks
  • Identify potential obstructions and installation conflicts before they become problems
  • Coordinate piping installations with HVAC, electrical, and other construction trades
  • Help direct crew members to complete work safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
  • Follow all company, OSHA, and jobsite safety requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of commercial plumbing, pipe fitting, or related mechanical construction experience
  • Strong experience with commercial piping installation
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Experience measuring, cutting, threading, fitting, and joining pipe
  • Experience with copper, steel, iron, and/or plastic piping systems
  • Knowledge of soldering, brazing, threading, and grooved piping methods
  • Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and OSHA safety regulations
  • Ability to work accurately from measurements and specifications
  • Ability to make sound field decisions with the information available
  • Ability to work effectively with other construction trades
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Experience directing or helping lead crew members is a plus
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on project needs. Unscheduled overtime may also be required when necessary.
