Paving Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Concrete Paving Mechanic to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of concrete paving equipment, maintenance, and repair, combined with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in a fast‑paced environment. As a seasoned professional, you will be expected to work independently and efficiently while ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of all machinery used in concrete paving operations.
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Maintenance & Repairs:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on concrete paving machinery, diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, conduct regular inspections, maintain records, and replace worn parts. - Paving Operations Support:
Assist in setup, calibration, and adjustment of paving machines, ensure all machinery is ready for use, work with team to ensure high‑quality concrete placement. - Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
Quickly identify and resolve equipment issues during operations, provide technical expertise to crew. - Safety Compliance:
Ensure work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, inspect and maintain safety equipment, participate in safety meetings. - Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with supervisors and crew to ensure projects are completed on time, report hazards, malfunctions, or safety concerns. - Record‑Keeping & Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and tools, create detailed work orders documenting work performed, parts used, and maintenance completed.
- Experience:
Minimum 5 years as a Concrete Paving Mechanic or similar role. - Technical
Skills:
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in construction machinery; ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints; proficiency in hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding tools. - Certifications:
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred); relevant safety certifications (OSHA, First Aid, etc.) preferred. - Additional
Skills:
Strong problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
