Field Technician

We are seeking a versatile Field Technician to assist in commissioning a startup industrial facility in Chester, Virginia. Working directly alongside our Senior Controls & Field Engineering Specialist, you will perform hands-on instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical verification tasks required to bring complex industrial systems online safely and efficiently.

• Perform I&E checkout, loop checks, and field continuity testing during system startup.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and verify cable terminations and general field wiring.
• Assist with control loop troubleshooting and instrument verification against design specifications.

• Provide mechanical assembly support, including flange alignment, torquing/bolting, and equipment positioning.
• Assist in mechanical equipment installation and physical verification.
• Review P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and electrical schematics to verify physical field installations against design packages.

• Complete commissioning checklists, capture field measurements, and document redline changes on engineering drawings.
• Support daily site flow and logistics, including material pickups, parts runs, and equipment transport.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment in compliance with facility safety protocols.

• Instrumentation & Electrical Experience
  : 2+ years of hands-on I&E experience, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy construction setting.
• Mechanical Aptitude
  : 2+ years of hands-on mechanical work involving piping, mechanical assembly, valve maintenance, or industrial maintenance.
• Drawing Literacy
  :
  Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and basic electrical schematics (or the proven ability to pick them up rapidly).
• Work Ethic: Reliable, proactive, and self-directed. You take direction well and take ownership of tasks from start to finish.
• Environment Comfort
  :
  Comfortable working on active industrial and construction sites while strictly following safety standard operating procedures.
• Other Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Work Schedule
  :
  Monday through Friday site presence, allowing you to be home every weekend.
• Local Candidates
  :
  Work directly from your home base in the Richmond / Chester, VA area.
• Non-Local Candidates
  :
  Full travel coverage provided, including round-trip transportation, lodging, and meal allowances.
