The Specialist provides comprehensive direct and indirect job coaching and employment supports to individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities include conducting situational assessments, implementing training techniques, leading job development, coaching, and follow‑along services to support competitive integrated employment while meeting billable hour expectations. Additional duties comprise completing intakes, employment plans, case notes, and reports using Netsmart; maintaining accurate documentation; providing transportation when needed;
mentoring Employment Specialist I staff; supporting understanding of DARS and Medicaid Waiver processes; maintaining active relationships with at least eight inclusive business partners; identifying program challenges and recommending solutions; collaborating with leadership on program objectives; and effectively supporting volunteers and interns. The role requires schedule flexibility, participation in trainings and meetings, and ongoing compliance with agency policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
& Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor's degree in human services, education, social work, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field and have at least two years of experience in supported employment, employment services, workforce development, or pre‑employment transition services. ACRE Certification and/or a Certified Supported Employment Professional credential is required. Applicants must demonstrate strong relationship‑building skills with individuals with disabilities, employers, families, and partner agencies, apply a person‑first, positive behavioral support approach to employment planning, have proficiency in documentation and case management systems, possess problem‑solving skills, and be able to mentor others.
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable record, successful completion of a SOAR
365 driving test, and the ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and Therapeutic Options certifications are required.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
