As a Surge Shelter Monitor, you'll provide compassionate support, assist with daily shelter operations, and protect the safety and dignity of everyone who enters.

Position Details Pay Rate: $18.00 / hour Status:
Part-time, Seasonal / Temporary (November 1st – March 31st)

Shifts:

8-hour shifts (8:00 AM–4:00 PM, 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, or 12:00 AM–8:00 AM)

What You'll DoProvide Compassionate Support:
Deliver trauma-informed care and build rapport with shelter participants while maintaining clear boundaries.

Support Shelter Operations:
Assist with shift checklists, safety, cleanliness, participant appointments, and community partner visits.

Maintain Safety:
Utilize conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques to support crisis intervention when needed.

Guide Team Support:
Engage and assist interns and volunteers on-site during your shift.

Ensure Readiness:
Respond promptly to shelter activation calls and help keep the space organized, safe, and inclusive.

What We are Looking For Reliability:
Dependable transportation and the ability to report to duty within 8 hours or less of an activation  & Care:
Skilled in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and trauma-informed care practices.

Communication:
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Background:
Experience in shelters, social services, or crisis environments preferred (but not required).Certifications & Physical Readiness:
Current CPR and Naloxone certifications (or willingness to obtain within 1 month of hire) and ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
