Job Description & How to Apply Below

Internet Subway is a modern Internet Service Provider (ISP) laser-focused on delivering frictionless internet experiences to apartment communities. With a 100% fiber‑optic network, a seamless onboarding and management platform, and direct property connectivity, we provide a journey to the internet unlike any other.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Internet Subway is hiring a Senior Software Engineer with product ownership instincts to help build and own the software that runs our multifamily managed Wi‑Fi platform. You will work across our full software surface — internal operations tools, customer and resident portals, PMS integrations, and the systems that interface with our network and Wi‑Fi experience stacks.

You will spend most of your time writing code, reviewing pull requests, and shaping the architecture — but you should be the kind of engineer who naturally thinks like a product owner: who asks why before how, who pushes back on bad requirements, and who wants to own outcomes rather than just tickets. You will work directly with our network engineering team to connect operational systems into our products, and you will lead AI automation initiatives — both inside engineering and across the rest of the business.

You will report to our CTO and partner closely with the leadership team.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
  • Hands‑on development across the Internet Subway software surface: internal tools, owner/resident‑facing portals, PMS integrations, and network provisioning/monitoring.
  • Technical design and architecture for new features and systems — making the calls on data models, APIs, integration patterns, and infrastructure.
  • Building integrations between our products and the operational network — working alongside our network engineering team on monitoring, provisioning, OSS/BSS, and vendor APIs.
  • Leading AI automation initiatives: building agentic workflows, LLM‑powered internal tools, and AI features inside our products. You'll set the bar for how we use AI in code and in production.
  • Code reviews, mentorship, and engineering standards. You'll help raise the bar across the team.
  • Product definition alongside engineering: helping turn business needs into well‑scoped technical work, writing or co‑writing specs, and pushing back when requirements don't make sense.
  • Backlog shaping and sprint planning — you'll have a real voice in what we build and in what order, not just how.
  • Reliability, observability, and operational health of what you build. The systems you own should be supportable by the support team.
  • Release cadence and CI/CD discipline. We ship often, and we expect what we ship to work.
  • Acting as a translator between engineering, network operations, and the rest of the business.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in B2B SaaS, telecom/ISP, proptech, or infrastructure software.
  • Daily, fluent use of AI in your development workflow — coding assistants, LLM‑based research, prompt engineering, agentic tooling. We expect AI to be a core part of how you work.
  • Hands‑on experience building AI‑powered features or automations: LLM integrations, agentic workflows, retrieval/RAG, or comparable. You should be able to walk us through something you built and what it did.
  • Experience designing and shipping production software end‑to‑end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and post‑launch ownership.
  • Comfort with third‑party API integrations — the messier the better. Bonus if you've integrated with property management systems, billing platforms, or network/telco APIs.
  • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, basic Wi‑Fi concepts. You don't need to be a network engineer, but you'll work closely with ours, so you should be conversant.
  • Fluency with Git, agile workflows, JIRA or equivalent, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Product instincts. You ask why before how. You push back on bad requirements. You want to know what business outcome your code is supposed to move, and you want to know whether it moved.
  • Strong written communication. You can write a clear spec, a clear PR description, and a clear post‑mortem.
STRONGLY PREFERRED
  • Direct experience in multifamily, ISP/MSP, telecom, or proptech.…
