Software Engineer – Data Automation Team

As a Software Engineer on the Data Automation team located in Richmond, VA, you will play a key role in expanding the data platform that supports CoStar Group’s largest brands, including CoStar Suite, Loop Net, and You will deeply understand the business drivers for the software you build and strive to develop high‑quality, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities- Build large, distributed, API‑driven systems for tens of thousands of users.
- Produce robust, efficient, and maintainable code using C#, .NET Framework, AWS (Dynamo, S3, Lambda), and SQL Server.
- Drive and lead software design, development standards, and code reviews.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that strengthen CoStar’s technology platform.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.
- 3+ years of experience in C# and .NET Framework.
- 3+ years of experience with MS SQL Server or T‑SQL programming and performance tuning.
- Experience designing and building large‑scale distributed, service‑oriented systems and web applications in an agile environment.
- Data modeling experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to previous employers.
- 3+ years of experience with JavaScript, React, C#, and .Net Core.
- Experience with RESTful web services.
- Familiarity with Postman, Swagger, and API testing best practices.
- Advanced SQL querying skills.
- Power BI for advanced reporting and dashboards.
- Strong communication skills with both business and technical partners.
- Data modeling across conceptual, logical, and physical designs.
- Experience with Databricks for data engineering workflows.
- Knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
