Software Engineer III - ServiceNow

Overview

The Software Engineer will deliver highly complex solutions with significant system linkages, dependencies, and associated risk. Lead and perform development efforts such as analysis, design, coding/creating, and testing. Specialty in Service Now's ITSM and Mobile products.

• Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (code reviews, unit testing, etc.).
• Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements; help design and implement new products and features while enhancing the existing product suite used by multiple business lines.
• Review, develop, test, remediate defects, and implement application-specific development requests.
• Partner with platform architecture, product owners, and business partners for technical designs and implementation to satisfy use cases on the Service Now platform.
• Provide review and feedback to product owners including estimated work effort, dependencies, and sustainability during prioritization meetings aligned to Truist’s mission and goals.
• Act as an Agile champion in an Agile environment; deliver high-quality working software, automate manual/reusable tasks, refine user stories, develop unit tests, and support integration and functional testing.
• Provide warranty support and knowledge transfer to production support; develop code in accordance with acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

• Bachelor’s Degree and six to ten years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience.
• In-depth knowledge of information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
• Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
• Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practices.
• Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates; ability to interpret and convey complex information.

• Master’s degree and ten+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Knowledge of Service Now supporting applications, technology platforms, programming languages, systems, or business segments.
• Banking or financial services experience with solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience building high-quality apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level.
• Experience with Open Source tools and frameworks; cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP); SOA and Open API methodologies.
• Experience with web servers, application containers, caching technologies, relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling).
• Experience with messaging systems (MQ, JMS) and build tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins); proven ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests.

• Office-centric role, 5 days a week in one of the following locations:
  Atlanta GA, Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, Richmond VA, or Wilson NC.
• Physical demands: sitting, standing, walking as described; visual/audio/speaking requirements; manual dexterity/k eyboarding.
• Availability to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
• Travel:
  Minimal and up to 10%.
