Job DescriptionVirginia Tax is seeking an experienced, senior-level Power Builder developer to provide analysis, support, and maintenance for the IRMS legacy system, as well as development and implementation of the Gen Tax–IRMS interface under the direction of Virginia Department of Taxation management. This individual will work collaboratively in a team environment.
Highly Preferred
Skills:
- Technical knowledge in designing, developing and maintaining TAX processing and revenue management systems
- Product knowledge of IRMS system and/or functional knowledge
Required Skills:
- Experience developing Power Builder applications using Power Builder 12.5 or higher
- Hands‑on experience using relational databases such as Oracle 19C or higher, MySQL or similar
- Experience developing interfaces to File Net application
- Experience developing interface to REST APIs
- Design and develop clear and maintainable code
- Experience using software project tracking tools such as Azure Dev Ops
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self‑motivated and ability to work well in a team
- Interact with a multi-disciplined team to clarify, analyze, and assess requirements
- Work independently and collaboratively on a multi-disciplined project team in an Agile development environment
- Contribute to detailed design and architectural discussions as well as customer requirements sessions to support the implementation of Power Builder applications
- Power Builder 12.5+ – 7+ years experience
- Design and maintainable code – 5+ years experience
- Relational databases (Oracle 19C, MySQL, etc.) – 5+ years experience
- File Net interface – 2+ years experience
- REST API interface – 2+ years experience
- Azure Dev Ops – 2+ years experience
- Excellent communication – 2+ years experience
- Self‑motivated teamwork – 7+ years experience
- Agile environment – 7+ years experience
- Legacy IRMS experience (desired) – 7+ years
- US Citizen or Green Card holder – required
