Local Richmond, VA candidates only due to onsite requirement

This position requires onsite several days a week, NO exceptions

Contractor will be responsible for purchasing parking through VDOT’s Parking Management Office or procuring their own parking

VDOT is seeking a senior .Net Applications Developer who will be responsible for analyzing complex software requirements to design and develop high quality components for N-tier systems.

The Senior Developer is expected to take a lead role within the team, ensuring that programming best practices are being followed, prioritizing work effectively, addressing production issues in a timely manner, and writing system documentation when required. The successful candidate should have strong communication skills to be effective in both technical and business requirement discussions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop applications and backend services using C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular JS, Node.js and CSS.
  • Design and develop using SQL Server to create stored procedures/functions and tune as needed.
  • Design and develop using appropriate software design patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability.
  • Write effective unit tests and integration tests to ensure high quality software delivery.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of system design patterns, tiered architecture, and testing practices.
  • Understand key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
  • Plan and manage projects; solve complex problems by applying best practices.
  • Provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.
  • Work with project business and system analysts to clarify requirements and implement them.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Enforce standards and best practices.
  • Participate in Agile SDLC.
Qualifications
  • 10+ Years Experience with  and Entity Frameworks
  • 10+ Years Experience with SQL Server Proc/Functions development and tuning
  • 10+ Years Experience with automated builds using Microsoft Team Foundation Server
  • 3+ Years Experience with process automation and troubleshooting
  • 6+ Years Experience with Crystal Reports, SSRS and SSIS
  • 3+ Years Experience with Design Patterns and using MVC framework, Dependency Injection Framework
  • 3+ Years Experience with Agile SDLC best practices
  • 3+ Years Experience developing with Azure
  • 3+ Years Experience working on .NET/GIS projects
  • 2+ Years Experience or working knowledge on Dynamics 365
  • Experience working with Python scripting
