Job Title: Data Warehouse/BI Developer 3 Location(s): Richmond, VA Job Summary

A Data Warehouse Developer who can self-manage, partner with BSAs and PMs, and translate business needs into actionable, analytics‑ready data solutions. This role requires strong data engineering skills in SQL Server, data modeling using Kimball methodologies, and hands‑on development of data marts, SSIS ETL pipelines, and data flow design documentation. The developer must be able to deep-dive profile source systems, design and implement database projects in Visual Studio, manage code in GIT, and validate data accuracy through testing.

Experience building dashboards is helpful but secondary.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a self‑directed environment, communicates clearly with both technical and nontechnical partners, and takes pride in delivering clean, well‑modeled, well‑tested data.

• Data profiling
  - Analyze and understand source systems to determine data availability, quality, and extraction logic.
• Data modeling
  - Design dimensional models and star schemas to support analytics and reporting needs.
• Data flow design
  - Produce clear, detailed mapping documents that translate business rules into technical specifications.
• SQL Server data mart development
  - Build and optimize tables, views, stored procedures, and indexes.
• Visual Studio database projects
  - Create and maintain database projects for versioned, repeatable deployments.
• GIT source control
  - Manage code changes, branching, and collaboration workflows.
• SSIS ETL development
  - Build, schedule, and monitor ETL packages to load data marts reliably and efficiently.
• Data validation testing
  - Ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business rules.
• Dashboard/report creation (nice to have) - Build basic dashboards or visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

• SSIS ETL development: 5 years of experience
• Source Control: 3 years of experience
• Dashboard/report creation: 3 years of experience (desired)
