Service Now Platform Architect
MUST have:
10+ years of hands on solution design and development of the Service Now platform (not a Service Now super-user), including work with each of the following modules: ITSM, ITAM & CMDB required, (ITOM, SecOPS and GRC experience preferred).
Experience leading (not managing) a technical team through the entire project / development lifecycle.
Able to design / architect solutions to meet required functionality and lead the team through the process.
Recent hands-on experience with writing code to customize integrations / solutions.
People and project leadership experience required. This person is leading and involved in every step of the projects.
Must be able to tell the story of what they did and why... not just telling you what the team did. The interview will go deep into their participation, decision making and driving the projects to completion.
Should see career progression from developer to engineer, tech lead, or architect.
The role is 50% development / 50% architecting solutions.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Lead the overall design of the Service Now platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry and technical best practices
Collaborate with business leaders, stakeholders, and technical teams to develop and implement innovative solutions using Service Now platform
Define platform roadmaps, by ensuring scalability, performance, stability, and audit compliance
Lead the design of workflows, integrations, and modules to extend the Service Now platform’s capabilities
Drive the end-to-end implementation of Service Now solutions, focusing on Core foundation, ITSM, ITAM, SecOPs, GRC, TPRM, and other relevant modules
Manage platform upgrades and ensure all applications are optimized and adhere to enterprise security and compliance standards
Provide technical guidance to configure, customize, and develop on the Service Now platform based on business needs
Manage the documentation of solutions, internal technical and process knowledge base materials, and training of process owners and stakeholders
Understanding of Dev/Ops in regard to Service Now automations
Offer mentorship and guidance for a team of Service Now engineers
Work closely with cross-functional teams (IT, Security, Engineering, Finance, HR) to drive adoption and ensure platform success
Meet strict deadlines and other targets both individually and as the leader of multiple teams, strong decision maker
Engage with executive leadership and management to understand business objectives, providing solutions that deliver tangible value and measurable outcomes
Coordinate with Service Now team management to ensure clear communication regarding project status, challenges, and milestones
Establish technical governance and best practices to continuously improve platform performance and operational efficiency
Stay current with the latest Service Now trends, releases, and best practices, proactively applying new technologies and functionalities to enhance the platform
Create a safe space for engineering team members to experiment with technical solutions that may solve organizational problems
IDEAL PROFILE
10+ years of experience with Service Now platform development, including deep technical expertise in ITSM, ITAM & CMDB. Additional experience with ITOM, Sec Ops and GRC is a plus.
Strong understanding of CMDB, Asset Management, Discovery, Portal, Incident, Problem, and Change Request Management processes.
Adept at gathering requirements and designing solutions that utilize built in Service Now functionality where possible, to deliver the desired functionality.
Strong knowledge of architecture and design of Service Now platform implementations, including workflows, custom apps, and integrations.
Proven experience leading technical teams through the entire project lifecycle on large-scale projects, while providing process governance.
Highly-skilled with scripting languages in the context of Service Now platform development and Service Portal.
Experience integrating Service Now with external systems via APIs, Integration Hub and Spokes.
Demonstrate an understanding of how bringing in or not bringing in particular attributes will impact functionality.
Experience with Agile, Scrum and Kanban development methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to mentor technical teams, ensuring a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Experience in Perl and Python programming in Linux environment is a plus.
