Senior Full Stack Software Developer

Freddie Mac's Investments & Capital Markets division is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to join the Financial Engineering Team— to support a sophisticated, user-facing application that interfaces directly with the firm's risk models and analytics engines. In this role, you will design and implement automated testing solutions and enhance comprehensive test coverage of Java applications. You'll work closely with a cross-functional engineering teams to strengthen high-impact solutions in a financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Code Quality & Testing:
    Utilize the JUnit Framework to write and execute unit tests, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Technical Debt & Continuous Improvement:
    Integrate Ja Co Co  to measure code coverage and generate detailed reports, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain Jenkins Pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring seamless CI/CD workflows.
  • Design & Code Reviews:
    Actively contribute to testing discussions, pull request reviews, and technical documentation with a focus on thoughtful, stable solution.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of solid experience with JUnit and/or other automated testing frameworks; commitment to high test coverage.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem (REST APIs, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, etc.).
  • 2–3 years of experience with Jenkins and Ja Co Co  technologies
  • 2–3 years of experience with Git in a collaborative, team-based development workflow (branching strategies, PRs, code reviews).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business conversations.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving ability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with message brokers or event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) in a financial services context.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and CI/CD pipeline tooling (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, etc.).
  • Experience using JIRA or similar tools for Agile planning, sprint tracking, and delivery management.
  • Prior experience in financial services, capital markets, or fintech environments.
  • Working knowledge of fixed income concepts: duration, convexity, spread, option- adjusted spread (OAS), and related derivatives.
