We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Web Enterprise team, responsible for designing, building, and evolving the software platforms that support our proprietary CRM ecosystem and enterprise applications across , CoStar, , Loop Net, and other industry-leading brands. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, architecting scalable systems, and driving engineering innovation through the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The successful candidate will combine deep software engineering expertise with a passion for leveraging AI-powered development and testing tools to improve software quality, developer productivity, and delivery speed. As a technical expert, you will influence architecture, establish engineering best practices, and help drive the adoption of AI-assisted software development, intelligent automation, and modern test engineering methodologies. CoStar is investing heavily in artificial intelligence to accelerate software delivery, improve platform observability, automate research and business workflows, enhance product experiences through intelligent agents and skills, and improve data quality across enterprise systems.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a willingness to learn, adopt, and apply AI technologies responsibly to solve complex business and engineering challenges.

Provide technical leadership, architectural direction, and delivery ownership for a portfolio of software products and platforms. Champion AI-assisted software development practices that improve developer productivity, code quality, platform reliability, and engineering efficiency. Leverage AI-powered observability, monitoring, anomaly detection, and automation capabilities to improve system resiliency, incident response, and customer experience. Identify and implement intelligent solutions that streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and accelerate business outcomes.

Lead the design, development, and governance of AI-powered solutions, including agents, tools, skills, copilots, and workflow automations that enhance internal operations and customer-facing products. Establish and enforce engineering and testing best practices related to software quality, security, scalability, observability, and operational excellence. Promote responsible AI adoption by ensuring solutions meet established security, privacy, compliance, governance, and quality standards. Apply modern quality management practices to deliver reliable, maintainable, and defect-resistant software solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field from an accredited, not for profit, in-person university or college.

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack application development.
