Software Engineer II – IT Delivery
Estes is seeking a Software Engineer II to join one of its IT Delivery Hubs and support modern application development efforts across business-critical internal applications. This role is focused on hands-on application development, with a strong emphasis on front-end development using Angular, along with back-end development using Java and Spring Boot.
This is not intended to be an AWS, cloud infrastructure, Dev Ops, or infrastructure-as-code role. The ideal candidate is a strong application developer who can take direction from senior engineers, work independently with some guidance, and contribute quality code across the application stack.
Role FocusThis position is primarily focused on:
- Front-end application development using Angular 16+ and Type Script
- Supporting and enhancing internal business applications
- Java/Spring Boot development for application services
- RESTful API integration and light API development where needed
- Working within Agile teams to deliver application features, enhancements, and production support
- Writing clean, maintainable code with guidance from senior engineers and architects
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain application features and interfaces within an Agile delivery team.
- Build and support front-end application functionality using Angular 16+, Type Script, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Develop and support back-end application components using Java and Spring Boot.
- Work with RESTful APIs and integrate front-end applications with back-end services.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in collaboration with senior engineers and team members.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint work, code reviews, and team discussions.
- Collaborate with business partners, development teams, architecture, and infrastructure teams to deliver solutions that support business value.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset by staying current on relevant application development technologies and practices.
- Work independently on assigned development tasks while seeking direction and guidance from senior engineers when needed.
- 3+ years of professional software engineering or application development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Angular 16+ for front-end application development.
- Experience with Type Script, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with Java application development.
- Experience with Spring Boot or comparable Java-based frameworks.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs or integrating applications with API-based services.
- Ability to work in an Agile development environment.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently with guidance from senior engineers.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience with modern Angular versions; current Angular experience with 21+ is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications or internal business applications.
- Experience with application modernization efforts.
- Experience with API development or configuration in Java/Spring Boot environments.
- Familiarity with SQL or No
SQL databases.
