Delivery Driver

The Warehouse/Delivery Driver’s responsibility is to drive the delivery van and truck on a daily basis. The role involves receiving, shipping, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming packages and purchase orders using the Lawson system. Drivers must research packages that lack purchase orders and maintain accurate records of all shipments, delivering items promptly and ensuring compliance with departmental standards.

Valid Virginia driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and a positive points history on the DMV record.

• Minimum of two (2) years of previous warehousing/receiving work experience.
• Previous experience using personal computers (PC) for inquiry and data entry.
• Experience varies based on transitional duty assignment.

• Three (3) years of previous warehousing/receiving work experience in a hospital setting.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Respond to assignments within the timeframe established with little or no supervision.
• Perform deliveries and pickups according to departmental standards and guidelines.
• Ensure that all vehicle maintenance and documentation is completed as established by the department.
• Handle and transport medications and related supplies.

Some shift rotations and weekends.

• Lifting 20–50 lbs., 50–100 lbs., and greater than 100 lbs.
• Prolonged sitting, prolonged standing, walking (distance), reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive), repetitive motion.
• Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking clearly, legible writing, reading, logical thinking.
• Fast‑paced environment, ability to handle multiple priorities, adapt to frequent change, tolerate noisy environment, frequent and intense customer interactions.
• Varies based on employee’s medical restrictions and transitional duty assignment.
