This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non‑hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products. Responsibilities include performing bulk and packaged deliveries, executing proper loading and unloading procedures, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards.

General- Daily operation and driving of a power unit (Class 8 tractors and lower) for chemical distribution.
- Transport of HAZMAT and non‑hazardous materials, including liquid and dry products.
- Movements to satisfy outside delivery (customers/vendors), in‑plant spotting, and/or inter‑company branch transfers. Types of deliveries are:
- Bulk deliveries – loading/unloading from trailer, using pumps, air, etc., managing transfer and securing product, and executing all applicable paperwork.
- Packaged deliveries – drums, IBCs, or other containers, palletized material, supersacks with the same management and paperwork.
- Operate tractor, trailer, or service vehicle safely, complying with DOT, OSHA, and site‑specific rules during all functions (safety, packaging, labeling, placarding, pre‑inspection, daily logs, repairs).
- Follow Brenntag operating procedures, work instructions, and safety policies at all sites.
- Certification to operate pallet jacks (electric or manual) is required; forklift certification if required by location. Operate dock locks, levelers, and other equipment for delivery/pickup.
- Care for all assigned equipment including ELDs, virtual gateways, camera systems, and tracking units; maintain good housekeeping and working condition.
- Maintain communication with supervisor/dispatcher for delivery instructions.
- High school diploma, GED, or US military experience.
- Prior experience with chemical delivery may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.
- Must meet all components of driver qualifications (DQ) for employment.
- Class “A” CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or Hazmat endorsement (as required). Current DOT medical card. If position has PFT respirator requirement, must not have facial hair that interferes. Current TWIC card or proof of application if required. Ability to drive a manual transmission.
- Preferred: minimum of 1 year liquid bulk hauling experience or minimum of 3 years commercial truck driving experience; certification from Accredited Commercial Driving Academy.

- Must reside locally (within 60 miles); no lodging provided.
- Must pass pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and E‑verify check.

- This job has no supervisory responsibility.
- Pass pre‑employment DOT fit‑for‑duty exam.
- Sit and drive for long hours.
