Overview
Drives tractor‑trailer vehicle to designated locations, operates mechanized loading/unloading equipment, and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or GED.
Minimum ExperienceSix (6) months Fed Ex Express experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Ability to drive manual transmission preferred.
- Ability to operate mechanized loading/GSE.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
- Customer contact and package handling experience preferred.
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
- Neat appearance required for customer contact.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficient to understand traffic signs and communicate with traffic safety officials.
FMCSA covered safety‑sensitive position. Must obtain and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for the assigned vehicle. Medical exam required. Subject to regulatory alcohol and drug testing, including testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, and opioids. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Good driving record required.
Preferred Qualifications- Holder of Class A commercial driver’s license.
- Hazmat endorsement required.
The compensation range is $23.09–$33.18 per hour. Actual pay is determined by experience, market level, location, performance, schedule, and work assignment.
