Job Overview
Hepaco a Clean Harbors company is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to operate a variety of heavy and light duty trucks and work equipment at customer sites in Richmond, Roanoke, or Baltimore, VA‑Rail. The role involves driving and non‑driving duties on and off customer sites associated with hazardous waste clean‑up, handling vehicles such as vacuum trucks, cuscos, guzzlers, and roll‑offs.
Compensation& Travel
Hourly Rate: $29.00 – $33.00 per hour. New hires must attend a two‑week training academy; travel expenses are paid by the company, and a per diem is provided.
Responsibilities- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
- Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed.
- Operate a variety of Class A trucks.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Perform manual labor on site to fulfill customer needs.
- Properly placard vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements/regulations.
- Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports.
- Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
- Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and other requirements.
- Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
- Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
- Participate in site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission.
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
- Ability to use various mobile devices.
- Perform physical functions required by the job.
- Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical.
- For positions requiring respirators, meet OSHA respiratory protection facial hair standards.
- Commercial driver experience.
- Previous Hazmat experience.
- Previous manual labor experience.
