Job Title:
Dump Truck Driver - Richmond
Major Role and Purpose
- Drives Dump Trucks for transporting construction materials to job and plant locations.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Safety maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Pull or push levers to dump materials.
- Move hand and foot controls to move truck forward and backward to aid in the placement of material.
- May perform other related duties, such as lifting & moving transported material.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies in accordance with CDL pre‑trip guidelines.
- Use hand tools when necessary.
- Oil, lubricate, and/or perform general maintenance of equipment may be required.
- Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements and adhere to the same.
- Maintain daily log.
- Understanding verbal & written directions, GPS.
- Able to communicate with management & foreman on job sites.
- Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Must possess a valid CDL, Class B with air brake endorsement.
- Minimum of 1 year experience preferred.
- Vision must be acceptable to both day and night driving.
- Asphalt hauling.
- Ability to do basic math.
- Job requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching.
- Must be able to climb up and down a ladder.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
- Overtime work is required.
- Physical strength must be enough to climb in and out of truck throughout the workday, carry chutes, and carry out tasks that may be assigned to you.
