PT Inbound Freight Handler

Position Overview

As a PT Inbound Freight Handler, you will load and unload freight onto and off of equipment, assist in recouping damaged freight, prepare and clean trailers, and perform safe lifting techniques.

• Load and unload freight onto and off equipment.
• Assist in recouping damaged freight.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect, and clean trailers before loading.
• Use safe lifting techniques and appropriate freight handling equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, drum trucks, pallet jacks, rollers, and any other available equipment.
• Weigh and dimension shipments to ensure proper classification, freight rating, and safe handling.
• Plan cube utilization and proper weight distribution when loading freight.
• Count and inspect the condition of freight, documenting any shortages or damage.
• Review freight bills for special instructions.
• Check manifests for existing exceptions and verify the label and destination code against freight bills.
• Verify hazardous material product description, determine any discrepancies in the paperwork, and verify proper placarding when loading hazardous material.
• Properly block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to satisfactorily pass a background check, alcohol, and drug test.
• Preferred experience as a Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler.
• Preferred prior forklift certification.

$18.10–$21.60 per hour.

Part‑time. Third shift.
