School Van Driver

Position: Part Time School Bus Driver (Richmond Public Schools, Richmond, VA)

We are looking for reliable, safety‑focused drivers to begin student days with morning pickups and conclude their day with safe transportation back home. No previous experience is required; we provide comprehensive training.

• Hourly Rate: $17.50 per hour (training rate $16.38)

• Safely transport students to and from school and extracurricular activities
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of brakes, lights, tires, and emergency exits
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding student behavior or delays
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills while building trust with students and families

• Minimum age 21 years
• Valid driver's license held for at least 3 years
• Part‑time schedule with summers off
• Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work with children
• Ability to pass DOT drug testing; subject to DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40
