Summary/Objective

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records while overseeing the receiving and distribution of materials. This role ensures inventory integrity through cycle counts, audits, and system updates, while supporting efficient material flow from receipt through storage and final distribution. The position plays a key role in minimizing discrepancies and supporting overall operational efficiency.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP and tracking systems
  • Oversee the receiving, inspection, and verification of incoming materials
  • Report shipment discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate personnel
  • Ensure proper distribution of materials to internal departments, production, or job sites
  • Perform routine cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory audits
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances
  • Monitor stock levels and report low or excess inventory to management
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of all materials
  • Track and document inventory movements, adjustments, and transfers
  • Coordinate material flow between receiving, storage, and end users
  • Assist with picking, staging, and issuing materials as needed
  • Ensure adherence to inventory control procedures and best practices
  • Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage and work areas
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and procedures
  • Assist in preparing reports on inventory activity and accuracy
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) as required
  • Assist in the loading, unloading and moving of materials as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:
No

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Associate degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience with rigging, material handling, and distribution processes preferred
  • Basic understanding of inventory systems and controls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds
  • Ability to read and interpret basic measurements and documentation
  • Forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment
  • May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
  • May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust
  • May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights
Physical Demands
  • This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
  • While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color‑coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
