SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the airport's warehouse operations. This role involves leading a team of warehouse staff, overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, and coordinating shipments and inventory control. You will implement and optimize warehouse management systems, monitor inventory levels, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, this position requires regular inspections of warehouse facilities to maintain a safe and organized environment.
This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the airport's warehouse and cargo handling services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all warehouse operations:
Ensure smooth and efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of goods in the warehouse - Manage warehouse staff:
Lead, recruit, train, and evaluate the performance of warehouse personnel - Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures:
Create guidelines to optimize warehouse operations and ensure safety compliance - Coordinate logistics and supply chain management:
Plan and manage the flow of goods, from receiving to storage to distribution - Monitor inventory levels and manage stock control:
Oversee inventory management to maintain accurate stock records and avoid shortages or excess - Ensure compliance with aviation and safety regulations:
Adhere to all relevant laws and safety standards in warehouse operations - Implement quality assurance measures:
Oversee the quality of goods stored and dispatched, ensuring they meet required standards - Liaise with external suppliers and transport companies:
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and logistics partners for efficient operations - Manage warehouse budget and expenses:
Oversee financial aspects, including budgeting, cost control, and reporting - Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization:
Design and organize the warehouse for maximum efficiency and safety - Foster a culture of continuous improvement:
Encourage and implement initiatives to enhance operational processes and employee performance - Resolve any operational issues or customer complaints:
Address problems effectively to ensure smooth warehouse functioning - Oversee maintenance and upkeep of warehouse equipment:
Ensure all machinery and tools are properly maintained and operational - Utilize technology for warehouse management:
Implement and manage warehouse management systems for improved efficiency and accuracy - Conduct regular meetings and provide reports to senior management:
Communicate warehouse performance and challenges to upper management for strategic planning - Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and inventory control
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and regulatory compliance
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
