Overview

Kern Community College District accepts applications for part‑time, hourly adjunct instructors on a continuous basis. Applications remain active for up to two years. The starting salary range is $67.00 per lecture hour equivalent; hourly rate may vary based on the type of assignment and the Lecture Hour Equivalent formula. The successful applicant will provide instruction in a full range of health‑care ancillaries/licensed midwifery topics related to supporting health‑care services and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in a full range of health‑care ancillaries/licensed midwifery topics related to supporting health‑care services and procedures.
  • Demonstrate current knowledge, skills, and attitudes consistent with the legal and ethical practices of Midwifery.
  • Possibly require evening and weekend hours as well as delivery of curriculum off site.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a related field and minimum six years of professional experience as a Certified Professional Midwife; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and minimum two years of professional experience as a Certified Professional Midwife; AND
  • Nationally certified midwife (CPM, CM, CNM) and/or legally recognized in a jurisdiction, province, and state; AND
  • At least three years of work experience in clinical midwifery practice OR minimum 50 births as a primary or co‑primary attendant.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of teaching experience in a higher education environment.
Foreign Degree Requirement

Applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or an Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, INC. (ACEI). A copy of the evaluation must be submitted with the online application.
