Special Education Specialist; Pool

Position Overview

Opportunities for Learning (OFL) is a free, nonprofit public charter school network that offers students a flexible, personalized approach to learning. The Special Education Specialist will provide instruction and support to students with special needs and identified learning disabilities.

• Provide instruction to students in a special education program and tutor individuals and small groups, reinforcing language and reading concepts.
• Administer and score individual and group assessments.
• Schedule and conduct IEP meetings, coordinating schedules with parents, general‑education teachers, administrators, and special‑education staff.
• Communicate and coordinate special‑needs evaluation and testing with speech‑language pathologists, psychologists, and other service providers; keep parents informed of student progress.
• Record and maintain progress records and track achievement of IEP goals.
• Support other academic programs offered within the independent‑study program.
• Perform additional duties in support of the Special Education Specialist program as needed.

• BA/BS Degree.
• CA Preliminary or Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate) with English Language Authorization (ELA).
• Internship eligibility is a plus.

Salary Range: $73,000 – $105,000 per year, depending on experience, plus $5,000 geographic stipend.
