Position Overview
Job Title: Health Careers Instructor – Part‑time Adjunct Pool
Location: Ridgecrest, CA
Job Type: Temporary – Adjuncts
Salary: $67.00 per hour
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in a full range of health career topics.
- Staff assignments for Cerro Coso Community College, including teaching at other campus sites, day or evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, and distance learning.
- Maintain subject matter currency.
- Develop and revise curriculum.
- Use computer and multimedia technology.
- Participate collegially in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of related professional experience.
- Associate’s degree and at least 6 years of related professional experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
A demonstrated sensitivity to diverse students’ backgrounds is required.
Knowledge & Abilities- Work effectively with colleagues and a diverse student population.
- Work with students of varying academic and vocational goals.
- Develop curriculum across modalities.
- Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges and universities.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Maintain subject matter currency.
- Assess student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies.
- Commitment to the California community college mission.
