Position: Health Careers Instructor, Part-time Adjunct Pool (IWV)

Position Overview

Job Title: Health Careers Instructor – Part‑time Adjunct Pool

Location: Ridgecrest, CA

Job Type: Temporary – Adjuncts

Salary: $67.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in a full range of health career topics.
  • Staff assignments for Cerro Coso Community College, including teaching at other campus sites, day or evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, and distance learning.
  • Maintain subject matter currency.
  • Develop and revise curriculum.
  • Use computer and multimedia technology.
  • Participate collegially in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of related professional experience.
  • Associate’s degree and at least 6 years of related professional experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

A demonstrated sensitivity to diverse students’ backgrounds is required.

Knowledge & Abilities
  • Work effectively with colleagues and a diverse student population.
  • Work with students of varying academic and vocational goals.
  • Develop curriculum across modalities.
  • Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges and universities.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Maintain subject matter currency.
  • Assess student learning outcomes.
  • Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies.
  • Commitment to the California community college mission.
