Role Overview
Systems Engineer focused on Lab Integration, Platform Integration, and/or Flight Test at NAWS China Lake. Supports completion of test events and analysis of test data, including flight line missile and equipment preparation, flight test planning and implementation, telemetry data review, and lab integration.
Responsibilities- Provide technical results for a wide range of difficult problems.
- Determine and develop solutions under general direction.
- Support effective completion of test events and analysis of test data.
- Perform flight line missile and equipment preparation.
- Plan, implement, and review flight test data for captive carry and live fire.
- Use COMSEC equipment, AIS computers, and telemetry equipment.
- Maintain and reconfigure munitions, monitor weapon telemetry, and operate in a control room environment.
- Communicate with internal and external customers daily.
- Work on site; no remote work available.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Math, or related STEM discipline.
- Minimum five years of experience in a test environment focused on planning and implementation.
- Experience in at least four of the following areas:
Hardware Systems Integration, Platform Integration/Flight Test, Field Test Support, Telemetry Analysis, Requirements Evaluation, Troubleshooting & Failure Process, Lab/Field Test Equipment, Verification & Validation methods. - Capable of lifting at least 25 lbs and working in an industrial environment.
- Strong preference for an existing DoD security clearance; active clearance required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in multi‑disciplined teams.
- Experience with COMSEC equipment and classified computer security requirements.
- Experience with integration of test equipment, telemetry data analysis software, and missile systems host platforms.
- Up to 30% travel; mostly domestic with possible international sites.
- Possible extended hours and extreme conditions.
- Competitive salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
