Job Description:Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist within the PMA-242 Aircraft Gun System program, specializing in the sustainment, testing, and maintenance optimization of Medium Caliber Gun Systems for both the Navy and Marine Corps.
The primary focus of this role is ensuring the operational readiness of Gun Test Sets, diagnostic equipment, and associated electrical systems, with a direct emphasis on hands-on and programmatic wire repair, troubleshooting, and electrical component maintenance.
Additional Responsibilities:- Update programmatic logistics source documents with a primary emphasis on Gun Test Set operations, calibration, and maintenance procedures. Define technical requirements for diagnostic test equipment to ensure rapid fault isolation in medium caliber gun systems.
- Determine and implement necessary resources for technical data, training, facilities, and computer resources required to test, integrate, and sustain medium caliber guns and their associated test sets throughout their life cycle.
- Report the progress, technical risks, and readiness status of gun systems and testing infrastructure to PMA-242 leadership in a timely and professional manner.
Due to customer requirements, U.S Citizenship is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW Security Clearance for duration of employment.
Adequate experience performing the duties of the labor category as described in the Department of Labor functional description.
At least six (6) years of practical experience, to include laboratory testing, manufacturing, or maintenance. Experience may include technical work in: drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems.
Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents. Examples are trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as:
- Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes.
- Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated.
Engineering technicians may be certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies, an organization sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers. Certification by the Institute will be helpful as a measure of the technician's quality of experience.
Salary: the expected pay range for this position is $62,296 to $99,840 but is subject to change.
