Job Description
We’re looking for Certified Nurse Midwives passionate about providing comprehensive women’s healthcare in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. In this role, you’ll provide primary women’s health care services, work closely with an Obstetrician/Gynecologist on our Medical Staff, support patients throughout their healthcare journey, and contribute to high-quality care for our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary women’s healthcare services to assigned patients.
- Collaborate with an Obstetrician/Gynecologist who maintains active Medical Staff privileges at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.
- Follow established standards, procedures, and clinical practices while directing patient care activities to nursing and support staff as appropriate.
- Perform approved clinical procedures as granted through Allied Health Medical Staff membership.
- Work cooperatively with the Rural Health Clinic Administrative Team, Medical Director, providers, and staff.
- Maintain professional and collegial relationships with physicians and healthcare team members.
- Participate in an obstetric call rotation for the delivery of obstetric patients.
Collaborative Teamwork
This role involves working closely with physicians, nursing staff, clinic leadership, and support teams to provide high-quality women's healthcare services while fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Midwifery program.
- Current licensure from the California Board of Registered Nursing as a Nurse Midwife.
- Allied Health Medical Staff membership obtained prior to providing clinical patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a clinic setting.
- One year of experience preferred.
- Knowledge of rural clinics, billing practices, and office operations preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to maintain a collegial relationship with an OB/GYN physician for consultation and oversight as appropriate.
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language.
- Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, coworkers, and community.
