Software Specialist​/Engineer

The Defense Systems Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Software Specialist/Engineer in Ridgecrest, CA. The role supports the AEWTTR mission by providing engineering support for the design, modification, and maintenance of ground radar and associated devices for the Navy’s Aircrew Electronic Warfare training capability. Your responsibilities include working with a diverse team of software developers, engineers, and scientists to create solutions for complex problems, contributing to product development, and communicating effectively with management, coworkers, and customers.

• Work closely with engineers and scientists using primarily C++ and Python to solve problems across various disciplines.
• Manage multiple project needs and work on multiple programs with intermediate proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Apply object‑oriented design skills and produce design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation.
• Work and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team; maintain familiarity with software development for Windows and Linux OS.

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent with 4–8 years of relevant software development experience, or Master’s degree with 2–6 years of experience. Additional education or training may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in software development, programming, and analysis in at least one of the following: programming, PC application analysis, software development.
• Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
• Intermediate proficiency in C++/Python and experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience with engineering software, system design, development, and integration, including PC application programming.
• Willingness and ability to work onsite in Ridgecrest, CA.

Pay Range: $87,100.00 – $
