RVNAhealth, a mission-driven home healthcare agency based in Ridgefield, CT providing a full continuum of services, including in‑home nursing, rehabilitation, chronic and hospice care, private caregivers and nursing, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial operations and strategy across the organization.

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, and based in the Ridgefield Office, the CFO serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and strategic advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors. This role is responsible for ensuring fiscal integrity, compliance, and sustainability across multiple service lines in a dynamic post‑acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities Financial Strategy, Planning & Analysis
  • Lead the development and management of the organization’s annual budget, long‑term financial plans, and forecasting.
  • Provide financial insight and reporting to support strategic decision‑making by the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Analyze financial performance across service lines to identify opportunities for efficiency, sustainability, and growth.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports in accordance with GAAP and home‑care regulatory standards.
  • Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Oversee audits, tax filings, and compliance with all state and federal regulations, including those governing home health and hospice.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial partners.
Cash Flow & Revenue Cycle Management
  • Manage daily cash flow
    , billing, reimbursements, and other revenue streams to ensure financial stability.
  • Optimize accounts receivable and payable processes and drive improvements in revenue cycle efficiency.
  • Ensure the effective financial management of diverse funding sources, including Medicare, Medicaid, insurance, and private pay.
Operational Efficiency & Risk Management
  • Identify and implement cost‑control strategies while maintaining high‑quality patient care.
  • Track operational expenses, labor costs, and overhead, ensuring alignment with financial goals and sustainability.
  • Monitor financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the agency’s fiscal health and compliance.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and department heads to provide financial guidance that supports clinical and operational priorities.
  • Communicate complex financial information in a clear, actionable manner to both financial and non‑financial stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required;
    CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 5‑7 years in a senior leadership or executive leadership role overseeing financial operations for an organization of similar size.
  • Experience in the healthcare or post‑acute care industry (home health, hospice, or rehabilitation) strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare reimbursement, compliance, and regulatory reporting (Medicare, Medicaid, CHAP, DPH, GAAP).
  • Experience in a nonprofit healthcare organization preferred, with knowledge of fund accounting, board reporting, and mission‑driven financial stewardship.
  • Proven success in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, cost control, and strategic financial planning.
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills
    , with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across departments and with the Board of Directors.
