Phlebotomist - 1st Shift

Location: Ridgefield, CT
Pay Rate: $17.00 - $21.00/hour (W2)
Duration: 2+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday - Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Ridgefield, CT. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing blood collection and specimen processing duties. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to maintaining quality and accuracy in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures safely and accurately.
• Collect, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to established protocols.
• Verify patient information and maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ensure specimen integrity and follow all safety, confidentiality, and compliance requirements.
• Provide professional and compassionate patient care while explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns.
• Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
• Work independently under the direction of the area supervisor and complete daily activities accurately and on schedule.
• Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
• Strong specimen collection, labeling, and processing experience.
• Excellent data entry and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience.
• Experience with pediatric and geriatric blood collections.
• Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.

• Ability to perform quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed based on staffing requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle confidential patient information with professionalism.
