Union Mechanic - 2nd Shift
Location: Ridgefield, Connecticut, United States of America
About the RoleAs a CBRE Union Mechanic, you will support the operation, inspection, and maintenance processes in an assigned facility. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, providing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do- Partner with internal teams on complex maintenance and repair efforts
- Perform inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including HVAC units, boilers, cooling towers, etc.
- Review and assign work orders to team members, and directly complete ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs as needed
- Conduct facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions that impact client occupancy and operations
- Complete hazard assessments and maintain compliance with state, county, or city ordinances, codes, or laws
- Use industry principles with limited practical application experience
- Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values
- Impact the quality of own work
- Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
- Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding
- High school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2‑3 years of job‑related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Meet the physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift or carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems
- Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments
- In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset
- Compliance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement, if applicable
