The Director Launch Management is responsible for the execution and oversight of the US Asset Team model and the US Launch Excellence framework. This role aligns global and local business interests including leading a cross Therapeutic group of Asset Managers drive the Launch Excellence model. The Director Launch Management will coordinate with Asset Team leaders, act as a liaison between US and Global Launch Excellence Office and drive launch excellence across the US organization.

This role is based on-site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site.

Responsibilities
  • Creates and maintains US Launch Excellence capabilities including a defined ways of working including governance documented in a playbook(s).
  • Fosters innovative approaches and processes to guide strategic planning and execution of launches to optimize commercial success through the coordination of cross-functional teams.
  • Oversees the collection and sharing of launch learnings and insights for continuous and externally competitive process improvements by leveraging after action reviews to identify best practices.
  • Integrates and prioritizes needs of each area of the business including Medicine, Commercial Therapeutic Areas, HP Operations and Global Launch team by facilitating end to end launch activities as a subject matter expert driving towards enterprise defined success while demonstrating solid understanding of Launch cycle and other Customer Planning Processes.
  • Develops and implements critical success factors for launch and beyond including continuous key performance metrics to monitor progress and impact, providing insights in collaboration with A&I and global partners to support decision making and drive continuous improvement across all asset teams.
  • Responsible for regular communication of process updates, capability advancement and overall Asset Team status to diverse group of stakeholders including Global Launch Excellence Office team and US Asset teams.
  • Staffs and leads a team of cross therapeutic asset managers including setting job expectations, providing regular feedback, conducting timely MAG Plan reviews, identifying performance challenges, creating action plans and monitoring the effectiveness of those action plans.
  • Completes Career Planning, Succession Planning, and competency assessment to ensure the professional development of members on the team as well as sustainability of the Launch Excellence team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Ten-plus (10+) years of experience in the US pharmaceutical industry, focusing on business strategy, marketing strategy, customer insights, and/or digital strategy, along with over five-plus (5+) years of people leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of Launch Excellence.
  • Proven end to end experience in launching multiple products in the pharmaceutical market.
  • Proficiency in identifying insights through the analysis of Asset Teams to enhance and streamline processes; capable of coaching this skill across teams.
  • Ability to swiftly comprehend complex issues at a high level and develop practical solutions suited for a challenging environment.
  • Talent for inspiring and collaborating with diverse individuals across all organizational levels in a global, highly matrixed setting.
  • Exceptional project management and problem-solving abilities; adept at overcoming obstacles to complete projects and achieve results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
