Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is looking for a skilled Scientist – Bioanalysis / Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics to join their team in Fairfield, CT!
Location: Ridgefield, CT
Job type: 1-year contract
Pay rate: $39/hr.
- $42/hr.
We are seeking a talented and innovative Scientist to join our Bioanalysis–Drug Metabolism/Pharmacokinetics team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional DMPK teams to support the management, characterization, and documentation of critical reagents used in bioanalytical assays supporting non-clinical and clinical studies.
This position is ideal for an early-career scientist with experience in analytical laboratory techniques, particularly analytical size exclusion chromatography (aSEC) and/or LC-MS.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to complete interdependent laboratory and operational activities.
- Manage standard, specialized, and custom reagents, matrices, and reference standards, including receipt, inventory, organized storage, electronic tracking, monitoring, and discrepancy resolution.
- Coordinate the storage and tracking of reagent samples maintained at off-site facilities.
- Perform analytical characterization of critical reagents, including concentration determination, analytical size exclusion chromatography (aSEC), and LC-MS.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure data, reports, and supporting documentation are properly archived in electronic laboratory notebooks and applicable data-management systems.
- Support laboratory safety activities, including routine inspection of eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, and other laboratory safety equipment.
- Coordinate pipette and balance calibration activities within the DMPK laboratory.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other technical documents using Microsoft Office applications.
- Clearly communicate experimental results and scientific conclusions during team meetings and other scientific discussions.
- Support equipment maintenance, freezer management, and other laboratory operations as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- 0–3 years of relevant laboratory or industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with analytical size exclusion chromatography (aSEC) and/or LC-MS.
- Strong laboratory organization and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong planning, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and willingness to learn electronic laboratory notebooks, data-management systems, and laboratory software.
- Experience supporting bioanalytical, DMPK, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related laboratory operations.
- Experience with reagent and reference-standard management.
- Familiarity with analytical data review, documentation, and laboratory quality systems.
- Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.
