Scientist Position

Seeking a talented and innovative Scientist to join the Bioanalysis-Drug Metabolism/Pharmacokinetics (BA-DMPK) department at our Ridgefield, CT facility. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams within DMPK to support the management and characterization of critical reagents used in bioanalytical assays for non-clinical and clinical studies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Functions effectively as a team member, demonstrating the behaviors and attributes required to complete interdependent and cross-functional tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Execute routine procedures in an independent and efficient manner related to standard, specialized, and custom reagents, matrices, and reference standards, including inventory management, physical receipt and organized storage, electronic tracking, monitoring, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Manage off-site reagent sample storage and tracking.
  • Conduct analytical characterization of critical reagents, including concentration determination, aSEC and/or LC-MS.
  • Carry out laboratory safety responsibilities, including inspections of eyewash stations and fire extinguishers within the BA-DMPK laboratories.
  • Coordinate pipette and balance calibration activities in DMPK.
  • Archive analytical data, reports, and supporting documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Communicate results through reports, presentations, and other Microsoft Office documents. Present findings clearly and effectively defend scientific conclusions in team meetings.
  • May be assigned additional responsibilities (e.g., equipment maintenance, freezer management, etc.) under the direction of Bioanalysis/DMPK Management.
  • Comply with applicable regulations and perform all work in a safe manner. Maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and Boehringer Ingelheim policies.

Skills:

  • Experience with analytical size exclusion chromatography (aSEC) and LC-MS.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and successfully follow through on commitments.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, and a willingness to learn electronic data management systems and laboratory software tools.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline with 0-3 years with relevant experience.
