Accounting Assistant, Bookkeeper/ Accounting Clerk
Ducks Unlimited, Inc., (DU) the leader in wetlands and waterfowl, has an opening for an Accounting Clerk at our Southern Regional Office in Ridgeland, Mississippi. This position will provide support to DU's conservation services team assisting with accounting and grant management. This is a part-time position with a flexible work schedule of fewer than 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities and Duties:- Provide financial and administrative support for DU.
- Accounts payable – Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors and provide daily administrative support to the services team.
- Accounts receivable – Verify incoming payment transactions against the cash ledger.
- Research outstanding accounts and communicate professionally with partners while maintaining aging reports.
- Review employee expenses for accuracy.
- Perform other related support functions as necessary or assigned.
- The successful candidate should have 4+ years of accounting experience, or related education such as an associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Be exceptionally detail oriented and organized and possess the ability to communicate with others.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience working in accounting software programs a plus.
