THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance and Accounting team. This is an onsite role responsible for supporting the company's accounting operations, maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Senior Accountant will play a key role in general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting support, account reconciliations, audit preparation, and accounting research.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position partners across the organization to support financial reporting, board reporting, tax compliance, banking requirements, acquisitions, and other strategic financial initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, excellent analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

- Assists the Accounting team with ensuring that the Company's accounting policies, systems and processes are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Performs ongoing general ledger maintenance.
- Supports the annual financial audit and annual tax return preparation process preparing requested information.
- Supports acquisition and/or major transaction accounting requirements.
- Performs research of accounting treatment of transactions.
- Prepares information in support of quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
- Prepares, reconciles and maintains subsidiary ledgers.
- Reviews, analyzes and reconciles accounting transactions.
- Records recurring accounting transactions in the general ledger.
- Supports month-end and year-end closing of the books.
- Prepares and maintains various schedules and work papers in support of close, the audit, Board materials, bank covenants and tax returns.
- Prepares numerous ad hoc reports and performs other tasks as requested in support of the Accounting Manager.
- All other duties as requested.

WORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. High frequency of computer keyboarding and viewing a computer monitor.
WORK SCHEDULEThis position is a salaried position. The typical work schedule is a standard 40-hour work week.
TRAVELTravel required for this position is very minimal.
WORK AUTHORIZATIONMust be authorized to work in the United States.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- 3 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting.
- CPA license a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel skills.
- ERP experience a plus.
- Federal government contracting experience preferred.
- SEC and SOX experience a plus.
- Experience working with multiple legal entities preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Organized, detail-oriented and accurate.
