Bridge Inspection Team Leader
Garver’s Transportation Design Center, an integrated team specializing in bridge projects, inspections, and load ratings, is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader for our Ridgeland, MS office. A remote or hybrid work arrangement is negotiable. This role involves collaboration with engineers, designers, and technicians to deliver thorough inspections and reports.
This Bridge Inspection Team Leader will primarily conduct SNBI bridge inspections, including fieldwork and related office tasks. Travel across Tennessee and Mississippi is required, with occasional work in other states. Opportunities exist to expand into load rating and bridge rehabilitation projects.
Responsibilities include:- Perform routine bridge and culvert inspections according to SNBI and state standards as Inspection Team Leader
- Coordinate site visits and inspections
- Assist with underwater inspections
- Document inspections following company procedures
- Upload inspection files daily to specialized interfaces
- Enter bridge inspection data
- Engage in fieldwork, including carrying ladders and gear, working at heights, and in various weather conditions
- Perform NSTM inspections
As experience with Garver’s inspection practices grows, opportunities for project and staff management may develop.
Experience Requirements:- Completion of NHI Course No. 130055 (Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges)
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in MS Office
Skills and Experience:
- NHI Course No. 130078 (Fracture Critical Techniques for Steel Bridges)
- NHI Course No. 130091 (Underwater Bridge Inspection)
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Experience with Inspect
X or similar asset management software - Experience with Micro Station
- Experience with AASHTOWare Bridge Rating software
