Water Team Leader – Mississippi
Garver is seeking a Mississippi Water Team Leader to join our Southeast Water Team in Ridgeland, Mississippi working on water infrastructure and facilities projects. The Water Team Leader will be responsible for hands‑on management of water and wastewater projects through all phases of delivery including design reports, studies, technical memoranda, detailed plans, and specifications. The role requires close collaboration with clients to exceed service expectations.
ResponsibilitiesLeading a team in design execution and overall project management of projects related to:
- Water conveyance and distribution, including pump stations and storage facilities
- Water and wastewater collection, lift stations and force mains
- Pipeline inspection and rehabilitation
- Water and wastewater master planning
- Water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Coordination with other support disciplines, regulatory agencies, and QA/QC
- Periodic travel for projects, conferences, and business development
The Water Team Leader will also manage and mentor staff, monitor budgets, coordinate schedules, and represent Garver at client meetings and industry conferences.
Qualifications & Requirements- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- At least 6 years of water or wastewater engineering experience, with no less than 3 years in project/team leadership.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles related to water and wastewater infrastructure and/or facility projects.
- Basic understanding of multi‑disciplined practices (process, surveying, SUE, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control).
- Excellent communication, client service orientation, strong work ethic, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage scope, budget, and schedule for multi‑disciplinary project teams.
- Experience in preparing and executing QA/QC plans, conducting workshops, and leading business‑development activities.
- Commitment to continuing education based on project needs.
