Water Team Leader – Ridgeland, Mississippi
Garver is seeking a Mississippi Water Team Leader to join our Southeast Water Team in Ridgeland, Mississippi, working on water infrastructure and facilities projects. The Water Team Leader will be responsible for hands‑on management of water and wastewater projects through all phases of delivery: design reports, studies, technical memoranda, detailed plans, and specifications. The role requires close collaboration with clients to exceed service expectations.
ResponsibilitiesThe Water Team Leader will:
- Lead a team in design execution and overall project management for projects related to water conveyance and distribution, wastewater conveyance and collection, pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, master planning, and treatment facilities.
- Coordinate with other support disciplines and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control.
- Assist the Southeast Region Business Team Leader in managing and mentoring staff, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality products.
- Represent Garver in client meetings and industry conferences.
- Travel as required for projects, conferences, and other duties.
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Must have 6+ years of technical experience in the water sector, with at least 3 years in project/team leadership.
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (PE).
- Experience responsible for designs, including detailed plans and specifications, for water and wastewater projects.
- Strong knowledge base of engineering principles related to water and wastewater infrastructure and facility projects.
- Basic understanding of multi‑disciplined practices (process, surveying, SUE, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control).
- Strong communication skills and passion for client service and the water industry.
- Strong work ethic and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.
- Proficient in managing scope, budget, and schedule for multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in preparation and execution of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans.
- Ability to lead business development activities and interact directly with clients.
- Ability to pursue top‑line revenue generating projects with Garver’s proposal team.
