Position: Electrical Engineering Manager

The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the electrical engineering team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for our manufacturing operations. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in managing complex engineering projects in a manufacturing environment.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers, providing guidance and support on technical and professional issues.
  • Manage team performance, conduct regular performance reviews, and identify training and development needs.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design and development of electrical systems, including schematics, high and low voltage power distribution solutions, wire harnesses and cables.
  • Ensure electrical systems designs are compliant with industry standards, safety regulations, relevant electrical codes, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with other engineering disciplines and processes.
  • Plan, execute, and manage engineering projects, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and resolve issues to ensure successful project completion.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the reliability and performance of electrical and control systems.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards of engineering practice and system integrity.
  • Provide technical support for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues, minimizing downtime and optimizing system performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and technology upgrades in electrical engineering.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and enhance engineering capabilities.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of engineering documentation, including design specifications, schematics, and operation manuals.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on project status, team performance, and engineering metrics to senior management.
  • Proficiency in engineering systems such as CAD/CAM, PLM, PDM, and ERP systems.
  • Proven experience in design and development of electrical for on and off-road vehicles.
  • Proven experience in design for manufacturing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards, in relative system technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, PMP) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Working conditions
  • This position primarily operates in an office environment but may also require work in production settings.
  • PPE is required only for warehouse and production floors.
Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed in an office setting, requiring prolonged sitting, computer use, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
