Overview
The position is responsible for providing support to Mortgage Loan Originators in preparing, disclosing, and collecting documentation for residential mortgages for processing and underwriting. The role also involves communicating and coordinating loan progress and needs with clients, partners, internal departments, and external third parties as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assist the MLO with loan documentation preparation and provide loan disclosures to applicants.
- Prepare new application packages and assist MLO in distributing them to customers.
- Review and assess the needs of customers and provide guidance on mortgage programs; discuss terms and rates with customers; lock loans/interest rates.
- Coordinate and communicate progress and needs among applicants, MLO, Processor, Underwriter, and external third party entities.
- Ensure all disclosures are within Federal and State law requirements (initial disclosure, re-disclosure, and change of circumstance).
- Follow established policies and procedures and maintain compliance with lending regulations.
- Clear and submit conditions with Processor, Underwriter, and MLO.
- Coordinate closings with customers, MLO, Processor, Underwriter, and third parties as needed.
- Respond to mortgage-related inquiries and contribute to mortgage business development through telephone contact.
- Submit automated underwriting requests for LP/DU approval.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Education, Experience & Knowledge- High school graduate or equivalent;
Associate's degree or higher preferred - At least one year of mortgage experience
- Individual NMLS Registration required (company sponsored)
- Ability to use discretion, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with applicants, co-workers, partners, and third party entities
- Professional appearance and attitude

- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving & analytical ability
- Proficiency in word processing and written communication skills with the ability to proofread and edit
- Ability to read and interpret loan documents, agency, investor, and regulatory agency requirements
- Flexibility to assist at other locations as needed
- Working knowledge of spreadsheet software
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
- Ability to travel
- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform essential job functions.
